Membership

Leading Age Services Australia is an alliance of state bodies coming together based upon mutual interest and synergistic benefits for members. We have member interests at our core, and will work hard to canvas member preferences and follow through to deliver.

To become a member of Leading Age Services Australia, associations must meet the conditions set out in the Constitution of the Leading Age Services Australia Federation, and the National Leading Age Services Australia Board will vote to accept new members.

All providers of care, support and accommodation for older Australians are invited to apply for membership of a State Association for Leading Age Services Australia, including businesses that seek to promote their goods and services to providers. The Boards of the State Association members of Leading Age Services Australia will vote to accept new members.

Membership of LASA is also open to any other state or territory-based representative of service providers in the age services industry.

Member Benefits

  • Resources to focus on government relations, policy development, advanced relevant industry research, all supported by leading edge communications and public advocacy.
  • Services to the breadth of our sector, including advice and services to residential and community care, retirement living, housing and services for older Australians.
  • The active pursuit of special needs and interest issues including rural and remote services, bush nursing, Indigenous, CALD, and GLTBI clients, the homeless, mental health, disability and young people in nursing homes, which we know matter to members.

The creation of a broad, national representative model provides more effective and efficient use of members’resources, and greater influence among decision makers. This unified approach has delivered substantial benefits to both service providers and consumers in Queensland and Victoria, and has also worked well for similar industry bodies such as the Australian Medical Association and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.

If you are part of the age services industry, you need to ensure your views are known at the highest levels of government.  Being part of Leading Age Services Australia through an effective network of state based and engaged professional industry bodies, or as an affiliate member for existing national associations, ensures your interests will be represented and your voice heard.
