LASA is committed to improved standards, equality and efficiency throughout the industry. We will advocate for the health, community and accommodation needs of older Australians, working with government and other stakeholders to advance the interests of all age services providers, and through them the interests of older Australians.
LASA’s goals are to:
- Play a leadership role in shaping the strategic direction and vision for the care and well-being of older Australians for the benefit and betterment of older persons in Australia:
We will partner with Governments to shape the landscape for age services funding and governance and make impactful Government submissions that achieve change for the benefit of providers of age services.
We will represent our members to government, advocating the development of age services policy. We will support the interests of all age services providers for the benefit of older Australians through enhanced and new standards of care.
- Maintain our focus on the financial sustainability of the age services industry:
We will provide accurate, timely, evidenced based advice and information to members across the continuum of services and accommodation to older Australians to help providers deliver quality services.
We will coordinate the development of educational programs to improve standards of care for older Australians and provide a genuine community of practice for members to share knowledge, combine skills, and find solutions through peer networks.
By leveraging our resources and networks we will maximise our efficiency and  the outcomes generated.
- Ensure that members are actively engaged and influential in the life and voice of Leading Age Services Australia:Â
We will unite the age services industry under a banner of excellence and viability.
We will provide opportunities for member involvement in decision making and seek out member opinion.
And we will develop services and platforms that respond to recognised member needs.
Through this, we will promote positive ageing and contribute to the continuous improvement of holistic, person centred, high quality care and accommodation for older Australians.
